  • Occupational therapy can support your child or teen if they...

    • have a suspected delay in development. “Wait and see” is not a therapeutic intervention.

    • struggle with emotional regulation or meltdowns. They go to “from 0 to 100” seemingly out of nowhere or need more support than expected to regulate.

    • have difficulty performing fine and visual motor tasks (ex. using utensils, handwriting).

    • appear clumsy or have difficulty coordinating movement.

    • have sensory processing differences (ex. difficulty with sound or touch) that impact their ability to complete daily tasks.

    • need more support than would be expected for their age to complete activities of daily living such as dressing or eating.

    • have a neuro-developmental disability (ex. Autism, ADHD) that is negatively impacting function at home, school, or the community.

    • have Tourette or Tic disorder that is preventing them from engaging in meaningful activities.

  • Occupational Therapy can support your journey as a caregiver or parent by:

    • providing you actionable tools and strategies so that you feel confident supporting development of your child’s emotional and/or sensory regulation skills.

    • engaging you in the therapeutic process to facilitate your child’s growth outside of therapy sessions.

    • helping you understand the “why” regarding your child’s areas of need and working collaboratively to figure out how to address those needs within your family.

    • identifying your child’s strengths and teaching you how to build on those strengths to meet goals.

    • supporting your ability to advocate for your child’s needs by identifying environmental and personal supports and barriers that may impact their performance across settings, including school and in the community.

    • offer support and guidance to help you parent your children to be confident, resilient, and improve family dynamics to bring more joy.

  • At FCOT we are committed to providing highly individualized supports and services to meet the needs of the entire family. No child or family is the same as another and thus therapy needs to be customized at every step of the way.

Raising children is a monumental tasks filled with lots of "what ifs" and "I don't knows," especially when your child is struggling. At FCOT we seek to understand the areas of challenge and work collaboratively to provide actionable strategies to support children or teens to grow into their most independent and joyful selves!

We seek to meet challenges and struggles with compassion, patience, and connection to help families flourish.
